We're thrilled to welcome a fresh face to the 2024 Corinda team. Meet Will or as his students know him, Mr Sisley or Mr S, a dynamic graduate teacher who officially joined Corinda straight out of university. Having successfully completed his placement at our school, Will is already a familiar face and popular figure among staff.
Bringing a fresh perspective to the classroom, Will is set to inspire and engage our students in the world of English, Humanities
and Economics. Will studied a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) and a Bachelor of Arts at the The University of Queensland. As part of his studies, he worked at various schools in and around Brisbane including Bracken Ridge SHS, Ambrose Treacy College and here, at Corinda. When deciding which school to pursue after university, Will chose Corinda, having had “many positive experiences” engaging with staff and students, and working within an award-winning school environment that aligned with his teaching aspirations.
“I worked as a teacher aide during the final years of my 5-year degree,” Will said. “During this time, I had the privilege of working with supportive and professional non-teaching and teaching staff. I was also able to support students and parents, helping them navigate the school and guide them through the curriculum, along with the school’s policies and procedures.”
Will hopes to transfer his passion for education to his students. "I am excited to build positive relationships and apply the knowledge and teaching strategies that I have learnt so that I can see improvement throughout the year,” he said.
Join us in extending a warm welcome to Will and all new staff joining the Corinda family in 2024.
