Fresh off Australia's record-breaking Commonwealth Games success, we're celebrating three past and present Corinda State High School athletes chasing their own green and gold dreams.

Congratulations to Class of 2025 graduate Max Bailey-Jensen (Boccia) and Year 11 students Sophie L (Gymnastics) and Ellen M (Archery) on being named in the inaugural Team Brisbane program, an initiative of Brisbane City Council and the Aussie Athlete Fund supporting the city's most promising high-performance athletes.

The program provides financial support to help athletes with competition, travel and training costs as they work towards representing Australia on the world stage.

For Max, the selection is about much more than funding. "Being part of Team Brisbane is about more than financial support. It shows what's possible when people are given the chance to pursue their goals, regardless of the level of their disability. I hope my journey encourages other young people to believe in themselves and not be afraid to chase big dreams."

Max says the support will help him continue his pursuit of representing Australia in Boccia while also advocating for greater inclusion and accessibility in sport.

Congratulations Max, Sophie and Ellen on this incredible achievement. We wish Ellen all the best at the Youth Olympics in October and Sophie as she heads to Europe in September for the World Challenge Cup series.
