The new Resource and Innovation Centre (RIC) provides a collaborative hub for young innovators, entrepreneurs and visionaries. It offers a supportive ecosystem that enables technology, creativity, and innovation to thrive at Corinda State High School.
Our state-of-the-art facility features:
Makerspace
This collaborative workspace provides high-tech to no-tech tools to enable student to make, learn and explore. This space gives students access to 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and soldering irons, as well as craft and art supplies, to explore engineering and design concepts in a tactile and practical way.
Robotics Laboratory
Our specialised lab encourages students to create digital solutions for real world challenges through applications of robotics and coding.
Green Room
This flexible space enables students to use a variety of graphics and design applications to creatively respond to design briefs.
Virtual Reality Room
A high-tech space that creates opportunities for our students to go beyond the school gates and explore the world from the comfort of their classroom. Our VR supports creativity and curriculum alike, and is set to expand in the near future.
Recording Studio
Dedicated space for developing audio visual and digital presentations including podcasts, short films, and animation.
Information Technology
Our IT department is located on the first floor of the RIC and is open 8am – 4pm Monday-Friday to assist students and staff.
Corinda State High School operates with a Bring-your-own-device policy
Library
The library inspires students to become independent lifelong learners, confident and competent readers and efficient and effective users of information.
Located on the top floor of the RIC, it is open 8am - 4pm Monday – Friday.
The facility is divided into two spaces – the main fiction area that serves as a communal space for students to unwind, relax and socialise, and the Research room, which provides a quiet area for study.
The library has a wide selection of books that reflect the multifaceted diversity of our community and the lived experience of high school students. We also subscribe to Education Queensland's digital library of over 80,000 ebooks and audiobooks, and the research database EBSCO.
After School Tutoring
We provide complimentary tutoring Monday to Friday before and after school. Students can drop in for help with homework, assignments, or exam preparation. The subject schedule is posted on Daymap each week. Please ask the Library for more details.
Students Clubs
Corinda State High School provides a wide selection of after school clubs for students to pursue hobbies and interests with like-minded people.
Clubs take place 3pm – 4pm Monday – Friday across the school. Please visit the Library for the latest clubs schedule.
