The new Innovation Centre provides a hub for young innovators, entrepreneurs and visionaries. It is purpose built to provide a supportive ecosystem that enables technology and innovation to thrive at Corinda State High School.
The facility will provide:
Makerspace: collaborative work space for making, learning, exploring and sharing that uses high tech to no tech tools. This space will have a variety of equipment from 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, soldering irons to cardboard, Lego and art supplies.
Robotics Laboratory: specialised space designed to encourage our students to explore and apply robotics and coding, creating digital solutions for real world challenges.
Graphic/design studio: flexible space that enables students to use a variety of graphics and design applications to creatively respond to design briefs
Virtual reality room: high tech space that creates opportunities for our students to go beyond the school gates and explore the world from the comfort of their classroom.
Recording studio: dedicated space for developing audio visual and digital presentations including podcasts, short films, and animation.
The facility incorporates a library that has a wide selection of published texts, audio visual and digital resources supporting the curriculum and catering for differing interests from Art to Sport and everything in between. There is printing and photocopying opportunities, quiet study areas, collaboration spaces, reading areas and gaming spaces – all overlooking the school oval.
The Innovation Centre is a high tech hub with collaborative learning spaces that promote inquiry, creativity, collaboration and community for the students of Corinda State High School.
The current Library facility is located in the Station Masters House and is open Monday to Friday 8:00am to 3:15pm. Students may stay later if they have made arrangements in advance with the Teacher-librarian.
