We are delighted to share that Corinda State High School was named the winner of the Tidy Pen Competition at this year’s Ekka for a second year running! The coveted accolade is awarded to the best school who maintains the tidiest display over the course of the show.
Our Agriculture students also participated in the Grand Parade with our Suffolk Sheep, as well as sheep showing in the Large Animal Pavilion as part of their four-night event sleepout. They also set up and manned a fantastic STEM-focused school display with the support of Corinda staff, including Mr Abell and Mr Pilkington.
A shout out must also go to our Dance and Instrumental Music students, including our brand-new Corinda Cavaliers Marching Band, comprised of our Drumline, with a selection of horn players, guitarist, and flagbearers. They energised Ekka crowds and kept spirits high as they paraded through the streets, while our Dance students also won over audiences with their performances in the Channel 7 Pavillion.
We'd wager there wasn't an Ekka patron who didn't cross paths with one of our students during the week. We are very proud of the team for their exemplary representation of our school as they engaged with the public. Bring on Ekka 2024!
