Our Dance Program offers students the opportunity to perform regularly within the school, wider community and at regional dance competitions. It develops the students dance skills further and creates a fun environment to experience dance outside the classroom.
Students are expected to already have competent dance skills as a Troupe or Crew member. Some of the extra-curricular dance troupes on offer are:
- Junior Dance Troupe (Excellence)
- Senior Dance Troupe
- Corinda Crew (Hip Hop)
- Aspiring Crew (Hop Hop)
- Tap Troupe
Within both our Senior and Junior Troupes' students are taught contemporary, lyrical, musical theatre and jazz routines. Most extra-curricular groups rehearse before school, at lunch times or after school. All places in the extra-curricular groups are by audition or invitation each year.
Students regularly perform in local competitions including:
- Brisbane Performing Arts Challenge
- Brisbane Eisteddfod
- Beenleigh Eisteddfod
In addition, students have the opportunity to enrol in our Dance Excellence Program through an audition process in Year 7, 8 and 9 if they wish to extend their dance training.
