This week, members of our Student Council welcomed Minister for Education and the Arts, Hon. John-Paul Langbroek MP, back to Corinda State High School. The Minister spent time with Year 12 student and co-Vice Captain Angel Sadik, who is creating his portrait for this year’s Next Gen Exhibition, Brisbane Portrait Prize, where she has been recognised as a Highly Commended Finalist in 2024 and Finalist in 2025. We can’t wait to see the finished portrait!

During his visit, the Minister’s policy advisors observed a Youth Support Worker cluster meeting with representatives from local schools including Indooroopilly State High School, while the Minister explored our Smart Farm, participating alongside Junior Agriculture students in hands-on activities including cattle care, poultry management, honey collection, and crop production.

Thanks to Head of Innovation and Agriculture Katrina Engler, John Jennings, and the Senior Farm Team for showcasing how our programs connect classroom learning with real-world experiences. Corinda SHS continues to provide unique opportunities for students to explore agriculture, STEM, and the Arts, preparing them to be the innovators and leaders of tomorrow.
