Over many years, our school has built up a tradition of high standards in academic, sporting and cultural pursuits.

Because of this, Corinda State High School has a very strong reputation and attracts students from the entire western corridor. The student population is above capacity and management of enrolment is seen as a way of maintaining the existing high quality service for all our students.

A school's local catchment area is the geographical area from which the school is to have its core intake of students. The school's catchment map defines the catchment area for Corinda State High School. Please read our Enrolment Management Plan for more details. Further information regarding the School EMP procedure is available from Department of Education's Policy and Procedure Register.

Selective entry

Students applying for Year 7 under selective entry are required to sit the Academic Entrance Examination or attend a Golden Opportunity Day. Information sessions are held each year in July for families of Year 5 students looking to apply. For example, a parent information session was held on 17 July 2023 for parents and carers interested in enrolment for 2025 Programs of Excellence.

Selection for the Academic Programs of Excellence is based on entrance examination, Achievement Data and NAPLAN.

Elective Programs of Excellence (Art, Culinary, and Music) selective entry is based on student’s ability to demonstrate passion and potential in their area of talent on a Golden Opportunity Day. In addition, demonstration of excellence in behaviour and effort to schooling is considered.

Sporting Programs of Excellence (Tennis, Dance, and Football) selective entry is based on sporting demonstration through a Golden Opportunity Day.

The entrance examination for Academic programs is run through AllWell Academic Services and requires a fee of $65 to be paid at the school’s Payments Window prior to or on the day of the examination date. The test informs the school of student achievement in a variety of areas and assists in triangulation of data. In addition to the test results, students are required to demonstrate continued excellence in academic, behaviour and effort to be offered a place in the program.

For further information, including application timelines and examination dates, please visit our Excellence page. Registrations for upcoming events can be made here
