In the latest edition of The Sunday Mail (Courier Mail), Music Teacher extraordinaire Jacob Hicks was featured as a nominee for Australia's Best Teachers!
The article by Catherine Nikas-Boulos highlights Mr Hicks' impressive career, touring across Australia and Europe, and now captivating his most enthusiastic audience at Corinda State High School. Notably, his junior percussion group recently wowed everyone at Fanfare with their renditions of
Britney Spears’ "Toxic" and

Formerly a London-based performer, Mr Hicks returned to Brisbane in 2014. Since 2017, he’s been celebrated at Corinda for his innovative teaching methods, making music both exciting and accessible for his students.
Mr Hicks sees teaching as a performance, relishing the moments when students discover the magic of music. He emphasises the need to support teachers for a brighter future.
