Growing Agriculture in Schools Summit

CultivatED brings together school farms and agricultural education programs from across the Greater Brisbane region to connect educators, share practical ideas and showcase innovative approaches that support improved outcomes for students in agriculture.

We are bringing together school staff from across the region, including agriculture and science teachers, agricultural assistants and livestock managers, business managers and school leaders, Vocational Education and Training (VET) coordinators and careers advisors, and anyone interested in supporting agricultural education and school farms.

The 1-day program will feature:

keynote presentations from leading voices in agricultural education and agri-tech
practical workshops exploring farm management, teaching strategies and student engagement
industry and education networking
trade and supplier displays
a facilitated panel discussion exploring opportunities and challenges in agricultural education
social networking at the award-winning Corinda State High School Smart Farm program.

Brisbane Markets

The Brisbane Markets is Queensland’s only central fruit and vegetable market and the state’s most important centre for the marketing and distribution of fresh fruit and vegetables. It records annual trade in excess of 700 million kilograms of produce valued at more than $2 billion. An important economic and employment hub, over 4,500 people work or do business at the Markets each day through over 170 businesses. This includes over 44 wholesalers who receive fresh produce from thousands of growers and trade five days a week to more than 800 registered buyers.
