To kick off Term 3 with real flair, some of our Year 7 students have been engaging in a special English project, learning about gothic literature while developing their communication, collaboration and conflict resolution skills.
In teams, they have been tasked with investigating a different gothic text and demonstrating their understanding through Taskmaster-esque activities. These include designing a physical representation of a gothic setting and developing their own gothic character.
English teacher William Payne said each team must also respond to the conflict and impromptu hurdles incorporated by teachers to satisfy the requirements of their task.
“Diverse perspectives are encouraged and awareness of what makes groupwork productive is fostered throughout this project," he said.
“Students have been enjoying learning English content while reconciling tension and dilemmas as a team." Well done students!
