TLP-3061.jpgOur dynamic curriculum within the Industrial Technology & Design Faculty (INTAD) provides students with a wide range of pathways. Students actively engage with traditional, contemporary and emerging technologies to develop innovative solutions to solve problems and create products by employing practical skills and technological processes. Boundaries are redefined by the ever-changing nature of technology and its impact on the design, manufacturing and construction industries. As emerging technologies such as 3D printing gain traction, students are provided with the latest technological devices and equipment to keep them interacting and innovating in an ever-changing world of design, manufacture and construction. Our innovative program encourages students to participate in external competitions such as the Australian ISSDC team to compete on the world stage at NASA, Kennedy Space Centre America. This is just an example of the many unique opportunities we provide for students here at Corinda.

High importance is placed on safety in the workshop and measuring skills. STEM initiatives have been integrated within the learning outcomes. Subjects offered include:

  • Design Technology-DET  (Year 7 and 8)
  • Design and Technology-DAT (Year 7 and 8)
  • Design Technology Wood (Year 9)
  • Design Technology Metal (Year 9)
  • Engineering, Design Technology Excellence (Year 7, 8 and 9)

An overview of the curriculum, including topics and suggested assessment tasks, is available in the Junior Secondary Handbook.
