Congratulations to Year 9 student Thomas for putting in an exceptional effort at the 2023 Australian Age Championships earlier in the month. The determined 14-year-old, who is part of our Elite Athlete Program, was selected to compete in the 200m Backstroke (placed #14 in Australia), 4x50m Medley, 100m Backstroke (placed #10in Australia), and 50m Backstroke (placed #5 in Australia). His impressive results speak for themselves!
He also performed admirably at the recent Queensland State School Championships, swimming the 50m Backstroke -15 yrs (6th place 30.11), 100 Backstroke - 15 yrs (Silver Medal 1:02:52), and 200m Backstroke - 15 yrs (Silver Medal 2:17:27).
Tom has qualified to be part of the Queensland School Team, and we hear he is very proud to represent CSHS. Well done– you’ve certainly done Corinda proud.
Corinda’s Elite Athlete Program provides individual athletes with the support and flexibility to pursue their sporting commitments and dreams in partnership with their education.
The program caters for the diverse needs of each athlete while providing a holistic approach that will enable athletes to be stretched both physically and mentally by exposing students to a range of programs and opportunities, including offering strength and conditioning twice a week.
