English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) for our international students is timetabled into all Graduate Program Students’ week as follows:
Years 7-10
English as an Additional Language
3 x 70 minute lessons a week
Year 11-12 ATAR Pathway Students
Mainstream English
3 x 70 minute lessons a week (with dedicated English as an Additional Language teacher assistance)
Mainstream English Communication
3 x 70 minute lessons a week (with dedicated English as an Additional Language teacher assistance)
English as an Additional Language Homework Support
1 x 70 minute lesson a week
NB. If the student is achieving B or higher in mainstream English, it is not a requirement for the student to study English as an Additional Language homework support.
Year 11-12: VET Pathway Students
Mainstream Essential English
3 x 70 minute lessons a week (with dedicated English as a Second Language teacher assistance)
English as an Additional Language Homework Support
1 x 70 minute lesson a week
NB. If the student is achieving B or higher in Essential English, it is not a requirement for the student to take English as an Additional Language homework support.
Teachers - Tutorials
There are two fully qualified English as Additional Language teachers on staff. In addition to the above, there are after school tutorials available for both English and Maths.
