Corinda SHS has negotiated with multiple vendors education pricing for parents and students for their education needs.
It is recommended Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) is purchased or included with your purchase. In most cases, in the event of damage or warranty repair, families will log a claim with the appropriate third party vendor / manufacturer. The device can then be dropped to the school IT room where this third party can repair or pick up/return. This setup streamlines repairs by making the family the point of contact, eliminating the need for families to coordinate repairs at their homes. Additionally, the school's IT team can oversee the repair process to ensure quality assurance.
Note some of the portals will categorise into lightweight/cost effective, higher performance and 2–in–1 models. Please consider the following factors when purchasing a laptop/notebook:
- Lightweight laptops will generally be sufficient for word processing, Internet and non-graphical intensive applications
Performance: If your student is enrolled into Industrial Design, Multimedia, IT and the Arts, a higher specification laptop is recommended
- 2–in–1: Provide a swivel tablet version of the laptop where the screen can fold onto the keyboard
- Ensure you inspect the model of laptop prior to purchasing to ensure that your requirements are met
