What an incredible way to close out term 3 at the Nundah Criterium cycle track with a challenging 16-hour event! Our students raced in teams against 21 schools and 46 teams, starting at 3 pm on Saturday afternoon and finishing at 7 am Sunday morning. This was the fourth and final race of the year, and our teams showed tremendous determination and spirit!
Placings:
- Peregrine Falcon Senior Boys: Finished 8th in class and 11th overall, completing an impressive 449 km - equivalent to riding to Mt Larcom, near Gladstone!
- Blue Phoenix Junior: Secured 9th in class and 40th overall, covering 276 km - the distance to Apple Tree Creek, past Childers. Notably, the team placed 3rd in Queensland for the overall series!
A massive thank you to Mr. Newberry for his dedication and support during race days and countless training sessions. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents who assisted with cooking, marshal duties, and team support – we couldn't have done it without you!
Special thanks to our fantastic sponsors:
- Motorama Mitsubishi: For sponsoring the Peregrine bike and providing marquees.
- Kennards Hire: For sponsoring the Blue Phoenix and providing a trailer, and for stepping in last minute with a 2T truck for the final race!
- Bailey Print Group: For sponsoring the Peregrine wrap, which received many compliments.
After 21 years of coaching, managing, and providing mechanical support - including 10 years at Corinda - Mr Jack is hanging up his boots and passing the baton on. He has thoroughly enjoyed working with so many wonderful students and our incredible community over the years in the racing program.
