Golden Opportunity Days are a chance for primary school students in the Corinda SHS catchment area to explore the range of Excellence and other enrichment programs our school has to offer. These days focus on higher order thinking, critical thinking and collaboration.

These days are an experience for primary school students to feel more comfortable in a high school environment and gain practice in a number of unique subject areas.

Please register your interest to attend one of our highly regarded Golden Opportunity Days using the registration forms below. Please note, only the first 25 students will be accepted into each program.

Frequently asked Questions

Q. Can I pay over the phone?

A. Unfortunately, no. Payments are required to be made in person at our payments window. Payments can be made to the payments office either on the morning of the activity or in advance. The payments office is located up the stairs off Pratten Street and is open from 7:30am – 1:30pm on school days.

Q. What time do we come to the school?

A. Registration is from 8:30am – 8:45am. Please note there will be no supervision provided until 8:30am. The day will commence at 8:45am. You are welcome to wait with your child until 8:45 if you wish and ask any questions to the Deputy in charge at this time.

Q. What do they wear?

A. Students are required to wear full school uniform unless otherwise specified by the program.

Q. Can they go home with an older sibling?

A. Students are able to be collected from the pickup area by an older sibling if we are informed prior to the day commencing. We will require the older sibling name and home group.

Q. Can they participate more than once?

A. Students can participate in multiple Golden Opportunity Days. We do not recommend repeating the same subject twice as often the materials may be similar.

Q. Will I receive a confirmation email?

A. No. When you complete the registration form, a message will appear telling you the registration was successful. You will not receive any further information until one week out from the event. Please ensure you make note of the date of the event and what the event was called in case you have any enquiries.

Q. I am unsure if my registration worked?

A. Please email excellence@corindashs.eq.edu.au with your child's name and the name of the Golden Opportunity Day and date you believe you enrolled in. We will be in contact within 2 working days

Q. I cannot register / the link is not working?

A. We close the links once it is a few days out from the event or when the event is full. We aim to list "sold out" on the website if it is sold out. Registrations for all events close the Friday prior to the Golden Opportunity day.

Q. Does my primary school know I am attending?

A. We provide students with a certificate of completion, which you can show your school as proof of attendance. We do not inform the school that your child is attending the high school for the day.
